Education Outreach (GI Outreach Office)
Education Outreach is one of three departmental sections within the GI Outreach Office. The Education Outreach team brings geophysical research into K-12 classrooms throughout Alaska. The team develops K-12 curricular resources and teacher training programs based on research conducted at the Geophysical Institute. Many of our programs are designed to increase the educational achievement of Alaska Native Students.
Geophysical Institute Education Outreach programs include:
- Alaska K-12 Science Curricular Initiative (AKSCI)
- Alaska Tsunami Education Program
- Arctic Climate Modeling Program
- Aurora Alive
- Cryospheric Connection
- Investigations in Cyber-enabled-Education
- Ola Ka Honua: Volcanoes Alive
- Science & Math Enrichment Program
- Science Teacher Education Program
- (UNITE US) Uniting Native Indigenous Traditional Education & University Science
