Sam McKay at AGU 2023

Sam McKay, a physics Ph.D. student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, has been doing research with high-frequency radio waves. He used the UAF High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program facility in Alaska to induce artificial field aligned irregularities and enhanced plasma densities through the center and sides of high-frequency ray paths. He then compared and contrasted the ambient and man-made changes in the high-frequency channels using both the oblique and vertical ionograms He presented the research Thursday at the annual meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco. #agu23 #UAFXAGU
